Blog Apocalypse: The blogosphere is coming to an end.

No more BLOGGING?

Don’t worry guys, it’s just another meme! I got tagged, it seems like ages ago, by Rob Watts of Yack Yack. Here’s some instructions:

The blogosphere is ending. No more blogs. Blog apocalypse. The internet is still working, the world is fine. But you can’t write anymore. Write your last post. Make it a good one. What is the reason you blog? What is the last gem of knowledge you want to leave? What do you want to be remembered for? Who are you? What is the meaning of life? Haha…well not exactly but you get the point. Pour your heart into it. – Urban Monk

If the blogosphere was ending and this had to be my last post, what would I say? I’d probably say this…

:bawl: I’m sorry… I just…. don’t do well with…. goodbyes… *sob*..

haha, just kidding!

I’m not sure what I want to be remembered for, I’m not a particularly great blogger, I mean… this is a hobby of mine and I don’t feel as if I’m making that much of a contribution to the blogging-world. But something that would be nice is if the thought of me would make people smile. :) Because I like seeing and making people happy. I like making people smile or laugh and I would want people to remember that about me – my silly/happy side.

Last words of advice…. treat yourself. You only live once, so enjoy your life as much as you possibly can. Of course it’s good to take care of business, but at the same time it’s good to take a step back once in a while and take a deep breath and live! I’ve learned this from seeing my parents while growing up… they sacrifice so much… and yet wouldn’t want to do anything for themselves… as if it’s just so wrong to buy themselves something or to take a break. And so I started doing that, too. I wouldn’t want to spend money on myself because I felt that I could hold off until later, and then later, and then later. But when will it end? It won’t… so treat yourself, because you can’t always depend on someone else to do it for you. No matter what you think – you deserve it!

Treating yourself doesn’t necessarily mean spending tons of money on yourself and or eating buckets of ice cream either. It could be anything, such as a hobby that you dropped years ago once you started working. Or just taking the time to listen to your favorite songs. Or bubble baths. Or walks at the park. Going to a baseball game. ANYTHING! Anything you are passionate about or into.

For instance, I feel that this website is a treat for myself. I have been wanting my own website for quite some time now. But I didn’t actually get it until my boyfriend convinced me to do so. “Why not?” he said. I used to love making webpages when I was in high school, and I just put it aside after graduating and for some reason… never looked back. Now I am soooo happy I have a website, it’s just THEE creative outlet for me – I love it! There’s always something for me to do, I want to take pictures, make videos, I want to share my world with others and now I can. This is my treat. It’s what I can do every now and then to take a step away from my real world – studying and working and homework and deadlines and assignments and meetings and and and and… everything! Just to know that I can take a break, and do something… just for me, something that I want to do… not something for anybody else but ME… is really something. Afterwards I feel refreshed, and ready to get back into the swing of things.

So I guess that’s it, take care of yourself, be happy, and enjoy life. Treat yourself (but in moderation… think HEALTH people! haha)

Bye bye :)

Wow, I’m your only tag. I feel so specialful ;P

That was great, Maria. It’s cool that you use your website as a creative outlet. It’s always good to have some way to express yourself :)

I’m going to have to think on this one for a bit before I write about it :D

Great last post…and does that mean you designed the theme for the blog yourself? It’s better than most of the professional ones!

Nice post Maria, and good for you too!

You are so right too. ‘Me time’ is something we all need, it helps us be productive and lead more fulfilling lives too.

    Keep on at it :)

  4. What if this were my last post?…

Maria of AnotherMaria.com tagged yours truly for this very nifty little writing exercise. The idea is if blogging were to cease to exist tomorrow, what would your final post be? Would you write a tearful goodbye to all of your loyal readers? How would …

If I had only one blog post left–

    Hum?

I’m a talkative/communicative sort, and that hurts me in this exercise. I’d mention my great loves of life, the music I jam to, the things that make my life worth knowing about. I’d mention my deepest darkest secret(s) –which would surprise everyone that typically reads things I post. They would garner a definite emotion from those revelations…

I’d spend part of the post pointing out the political landscape that cause blogging to go bye bye… And whether a conspiracy against me existed.

I’d find a pic of my hottest babe on the planet in my eyes…and write an ode to her beauty…or not. I just might mention she one groovy chick I’d like to shag with.
    (I can say that, right?)

Any hoodles, I’d probably have to end with some phrase by a famous author, like Faulker, Keats, Auden, Lowell, Frost, Ginsberg or Churchill or some other dead poet society inhabiter. That way I’d sound smart after talking about Ms. Hotness from Hooterville….or not.

My last post would be like my first–trying to put enough pizzazz in the idea of blogging to keep my departing bloggers/commenters coming back.

  6. “Treat yourself”… Well, that pretty much sums it all up. Great visiting your blog as usual! Its seems you are doing well, and that’s good, good to hear! :)
